Fellow Binos,

The first goal I ever saw the Binos score was scored by Joe Hughes against Dinamo Kharkhov when I was in primary seven. I have not looked back (ask Colin Wales). I remember being ecstatic when Frank Beattie resigned. I spent many happy years (14.5 to be exact) watching Alex Smith underachieve.

When I was at St. Ninians Primary and Stirling High I was roundly abused (well there you go) by those who supported teams in the English/higher Scottish leagues. I have dodged bricks at Cowdenbeath, squaddies at Arbroath, comb-wielding thugs at Methil, invaded the pitch at Annfield when we whupped Motherwell and at Montrose when we won the league, watched Mickey Lawson make fun of (sic) Bite yer Legs in Billy Bremner's testimonial, shouted at Jimmy the Fish, idol-worshipped Rab Duffin, King Davy Thompson and Gus MacMillan, promised I was never, ever, ever going back when we got stuffed 6-0 by St. Johnstone and used to stand at the Infirmary end at Annfield when it was raining.. To cap it all, I work beside Norrie Anderson who regularly asks me "Still supporting that ***** team?" (don't talk to me about devotion).

Now, to many people that's maybe not a catalogue of excellence and achievement. It might even border on a tenuous grip on reality but, hey, that's not what it's all about and I'm happy.
