"Mitch" was one of Stirling Albion's best loved players over the last ten years. A firm favourite with everybody connected with the Binos.
Colin was signed in 1988 by Jim Fleeting only weeks after Fleeting took charge of the Binos. The player was well known to him, as they had played alongside each other in Airdrie's reserve team when Fleeting was Assistant manager at Broomfield.
Mitch was signed as a midfield player or a defender, although he quickly settled into the right back position, where he would stay for most of his Albion career. But in his early matches with Stirling he first played in midfield, then at centre of defence alongside Gerry McTeague before moving to right back to a replace the injured Kenny Wilson.
Once at right back there was no stropping "Mitch", who showed a level of consistancy in that role that made him immensely popular with the Albion supporters. It was when John Brogan took over as manager that Colin began to show his ability, and he also turned out to be something of a penalty kick expert.
Colin was arguably Strirling's best player in the first half of the nineties and it was only when Kevin Drinkell took over in 1994 that Colin found himself looking in from the outside.
A firm favourite he was and a true Bino
